Coffman Cove is a small community of 150 people nestled on the northeastern coast of Prince of Wales Island in the
Tongass National Forest.

Prince of Wales Island abounds in majestic mountains, lush greenery and plenty of wilderness, creeks and rivers for great hiking, fishing, biking, kayaking, canoeing and sightseeing. Prince of Wales Island, approximately the size of the state of Delaware, is the 3rd largest island in the United States. It is located north of Dixon Entrance and the Canadian border.

What to Bring?

The average summer temperatures on Prince of Wales Island range from 50 degrees to 70 degrees. Fall temperatures range from the low 40's to the mid 60's. Please be sure to bring warm comfortable clothing, personal health and beauty aids, rainwear, your favorite fishing pole, and your camera. If you use film other than standard 110 or 35 mm, bring your own supply of film as the local store may not carry the size you need. Fuel, licenses, bait, tackle, soft drinks and snack foods are available.
